In Nigeria, due to our growing young population, 80% of youths have access to a laptop, and power banks which generate a lot of electronic waste. QuadLoop leverages this waste to develop affordable solar lantern and solar home systems. This relieves the environmental pressures of mining natural resources for both battery production by sourcing 70% of latern materials entirely from electronic waste. For every Quadloop lantern produced, 2.5kg of e-waste is prevented from going into the landfill. For any lantern used 0.5kg of CO2 is prevented by not using kerosene. This carbon neutral storage solution decreases the cost of storage by 50%.
